We all know we should have a Will, and of course if you buy a property you’re going to need a lawyer. But what about all those other big life events? What do you actually need to think about and do you actually need a lawyer or not?
In our latest Emerge event Amy Bird, Natalie Whitelock and Jessica Middleton from the McCaw Lewis Lawyers team will take you through the legal aspects of big life moments, including:
- Buying a house
- Making a Will
- Relationship property for long-term relationships or marriages
- Getting married
- Starting or buying a business
Jessica Middleton is a Senior Associate in the McCaw Lewis Commercial Team. She has experience across a broad range of commercial matters, including structuring and governance issues, sales and purchases of businesses and shares, commercial leasing and complex contractual matters. She has assisted a variety of clients, from small business owners and family trusts to complex multi-level organisations.
Natalie Whitelock is an Associate in the firm’s Asset Planning Team, with a wide range of experience in all aspects of Wills, trusts, relationship property, estate planning and retirement villages. Natalie works with clients to understand their present assets, future intentions, and potential liabilities, to then works alongside other professionals such as accountants, investment brokers and bankers to develop bespoke solutions.
Amy Bird is a Senior Solicitor in the Property Team. Amy strives to provide straight-forward, practical advice and has broad experience in residential and commercial property, along with property development and subdivision expertise. Amy also brings her experience in corporate commercial law following her work at the Queenstown office of a national law firm.
