Presented by Sue Kohn-Taylor. Research has shown has shown that there is ?a strong correlation between confidence and occupational success?. Maintaining a positive workplace attitude and showing confidence can, in many cases, lead to higher wages and quicker promotions. Self-confidence is the secret behind almost every personal and professional success story. Many of us believe that the main way to feel confident in the workplace is to have other people reaffirm to us our good qualities or achievements. People believe that self-confidence is an innate ability. However, this simply isn?t true - even the most outwardly confident people feel insecure at times. The truth is, however, that the act of simply believing in ourselves gives us the necessary confidence to stride ahead, meet obstacles and difficult situations. With practice, anyone can boost their confidence levels and command the workplace. Being your own cheerleader will help you be more confident, stronger, and less reliant on the approval and validation of others. You will have personal power even when others aren't being supportive |
