The Red Sofa: “Wading through Tomorrow night”
In the words of Jack Ma – “Today is cruel, Tomorrow is crueler but the day after that is beautiful, however most people die tomorrow night”
It’s our last Red Sofa of the year and we plan to go out with a bang! To do so we have brought in a panel of seasoned entrepreneurs who have fought the cruelty of “tomorrow night” and made it through to the wanders of the “Day After”
Our MC will ask them to share, their journey, the mistakes they’ve made the success they’ve had and the learnings they have gained along the way that has seen them achieve the heights in which they have achieved today.
If you plan to grow, restore or drive your business through to the “Day after next” join us and the Panel at our last Red Sofa!
The only thing we ask you to bring is “Questions” don’t waste this opportunity to pick the minds of these serial entrepreneurs!
Our Panel!
Terry Wilson – The reason behind Mitre 10 Mega
A man who has seen all the highs and lows of business, Terry built his first business to an award-winning level only to then have it all taken from him the very next year, but like many success stories Terry worked his way back to the top by using his learnings and applying them in all different fields and has seen great success in more than one industry, Terry built and grew a tech company he then sold into the US. He then brought a small mitre 10 store in Auckland as a retirement income, but he just couldn’t help himself and use his momentum to be now the outspoken owner of both the Mitre 10 Mega stores in Hamilton.
Harry Mowbray – Founder and Co-Founder of “too many businesses to name”
Harry a serial entrepreneur, most famously known for his toy company Zuru Toys who shocked the world after the launch of a “Bunch O Balloons!” and other cutting-edge consumer goods.
Harry has seen the day after next not only for himself but also with his family, with most of his children in China currently working on and running Zuru with his remaining son and daughter inlaw running one of his other businesses here in the Waikato, AWOP a leading event/payment technology company. Harry has a huge property investment profile and again has either founded, saved and grown too many businesses to list.
Steve Sartin – Founder and Director at International Foods
After wanting more flexibility to spend with his new-born daughter, Steve set off on a mission to become an entrepreneur so he left the beaten track of school-teaching and started a few companies to give him the time to spend with his new little family. Steve now has two daughters with his wife, Leigh, and they together started International Foods, New Zealand’s leading wholesaler and importer of American confectionary.
