Description
Join us for our next Lunch & Learn event! Ben Cain will share his knowledge on a selection of intellectual property hot topics. Ben will cover the topics below and will be happy to answer any questions:
- Trade marks, searching, selection and protection
- Copyright rights and design rights, similarities and differences and why they're important
- IP clauses in agreements, getting them right
Ben brings over 30 years of commercial experience gained across roles in sales, marketing, brand development and, since 2010, intellectual property law. A senior member of the dispute resolution and general advisory team at local firm James & Wells, Ben is an internationally recognised expert in trade mark law enforcement and litigation in New Zealand, as well as an experienced practitioner in matters involving copyright rights, domain names, designs, confidential information and fair trading.
Ben regularly speaks on intellectual property matters and since 2021 has been a guest lecturer at the University of Waikato, speaking and hosting a workshop on IP as part of the Master of Business and Management, Managing Innovation and Value Creation paper.
Ben is the author of the bi-monthly Intellectual Property column in the Waikato Business News, which has appeared in the publication since October 2018, and, all importantly, a Chiefs supporter.
