As part of a nationwide reform programme, councils across New Zealand have been tasked with developing proposals for the future structure of local government. With recommendations due to central government by 9 August 2026, decisions made over the coming months could have a lasting impact on how our region is governed, represented and funded.
Join us for a timely and insightful panel discussion featuring four Waikato council chief executives, each bringing a unique perspective on what these proposed changes could mean for our communities, services and economy.
Our expert panel will unpack the facts behind the reform process, explain the roles their councils currently play, and answer your questions about what comes next.
