ARE YOU READY TO TAKE ACTION TOWARDS A GREENER FUTURE?
Nau mai haere mai ki te Climathon Waikato!
In the face of the climate crisis, we are far from powerless. Climathon is your chance to act - and this November, for the first time ever, this global hackathon event is coming to the Waikato region.
Will you join us?
It doesn't matter who you are, or where you come from - Climathon Waikato is an opportunity for you to work in a team with fellow changemakers, entrepreneurs and professionals - using your skills to advance climate solutions, rethink the way we live, and create a future we're proud to pass on to the next generation.
Whether you're a passionate climate activist, a sustainability expert, or just want to learn more, we invite you to join us online from November 15th - 19th, as we join forces to develop tangible solutions to shared climate challenges.
This year's theme is 'Manaaki whenua, Manaaki tangata, Haere whakamua - Care for the land, care for the people and move forward'. The focus is on addressing the root causes of the five greatest climate challenges facing the Waikato region, as determined by the Rangatahi Voices:
1 - How to bring our mobility to zero emissions whilst being accessible and affordable to all?
2 - What can enable energy usage to become more efficient and sustainable?
3 - How can we transform our food systems to be healthier, fairer and more sustainable?
4 - How can all people be empowered to take action on climate change in the Waikato?
5 - In what ways can the biodiversity in the Waikato be increased significantly?
