Description
Join us for our August BA4 event hosted by the Waikato Society of Arts.
Located in the historic ArtsPost Galleries & Shop in central Hamilton, the Waikato Society of Arts plays a vital role in supporting artists, nurturing creativity, and enriching the cultural fabric of the Waikato. Through more than 40 free exhibitions each year, three prestigious New Zealand Art Awards, a thriving retail gallery, and a diverse programme of classes and workshops, the Society creates opportunities for artists at every stage of their journey to learn, exhibit, and flourish.
This is your chance to step inside one of the Waikato’s most vibrant creative hubs, connect with fellow Chamber members and business professionals, and learn more about the impact the arts have on our region's identity, wellbeing, and economy.
Business Card Draw
Attendees will go in the draw to win an unframed original print from Ruth Davey. Ruth was a prolific artist and the Davey's have entrusted the remainder of her prints to the stewardship of WSA. Ruth's unframed prints are available for purchase with all proceeds from sales, funding the Ruth Davey Merit in Printmaking prize, awarded annually at the New Zealand Painting and Printmaking Awards (NZPPA).
About Waikato Society of Arts
For over 90 years, the Waikato Society of Arts has been at the heart of the region’s creative life. The WSA has nurtured generations of makers. Whether you’re an emerging creative, a seasoned professional, or someone who loves experiencing art, this is where you belong.
They have a clear vision: creating a space where artists can learn, exhibit, and flourish. One of the WSA’s defining strengths is their exhibition programme, presenting over 40 free exhibitions to the community and three New Zealand Art Awards. They run a vibrant and beautiful retail space, with original artworks in all forms made by artists around Aotearoa, dedicated to supporting artists, inspiring audiences, and growing the cultural richness of the Waikato.
They offer a vibrant programme of classes, that support both established artists and those taking their very first steps. They are committed to celebrating the stories that art brings into our community and are excited about the future, by enriching the cultural fabric of the Waikato through new opportunities.
