DESCRIPTION:This Westpac Smarts event will feature a panel discussion with an end-of-year financial focus on the Waikato region.   Join MC\, Don Good\, CE of the Waikato Chamber\, and panelists Michael Cameron\, Professor of Economics at the University of Waikato and Brad Olsen CE and Principal Economist at Infometrics to hear their insights and commentary.  \n\n\n\nAfternoon tea will be provided. \n\n\n\nDon Good has been the Chief Executive of the Waikato Chamber of Commerce since 2020 and prior to that was an active board member.   Don is passionate about the Waikato region and transforming underperforming businesses into flourishing companies that grow and prosper.\n\n\n\nMichael Cameron is a Professor of Economics in the School of Accounting\, Finance and Economics (SAFE). He is also a Research Associate in Te Ngira - Institute for Population Research\, as well as the Director of Teaching and Learning for SAFE. He was a PGDA Visiting Fellow at the Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health at Harvard University from 2015-16. Michael is Vice President of the Population Association of New Zealand (PANZ)\, and Vice President - New Zealand of the Australia New Zealand Regional Science Association International (ANZRSAI). He is co-editor of the Australasian Journal of Regional Studies\, and associate editor of the Journal of Economic Surveys. He is a member of the Social Sciences Panel of the Royal Society of New Zealand Te Ap rangi Marsden Fund for 2023.
