DESCRIPTION:Join us as we speak to Geoff Bascand\, Deputy Governor and General Manager Financial Stability from the Reserve Bank of New Zealand. \n\n\n\nGeoff will be giving an update and speaking about the Monetary Policy Statement being announced on November 11th. His presentation will be followed by Q&A from the audience.  \n\n\n\nGeoff Bascand leads the Financial Stability departments in the Bank\, responsible for forming and implementing policies to promote a sound and efficient financial system. Geoff's role includes overseeing the major functions of policy and analysis\, supervision and data and statistics.\n\n \n\nBefore joining the Bank\, Geoff was the Government Statistician and Chief Executive of Statistics New Zealand. He had previously worked in senior management roles in the Department of Labour and the New Zealand Treasury\, and was a staff economist at the International Monetary Fund.\n\n \n\nGeoff has a Bachelor of Arts (Honours) degree in Geography from the University of Otago and a Master of Economics from the Australian National University. In 2005\, he was awarded a Leadership Development Centre Fellowship.
