DESCRIPTION:Come join us to find out how the Government intends to improve the wellbeing of New Zealanders through Budget 2019.\n\n\n\nImproving the wellbeing of current and future New Zealanders will be the focus of Budget 2019.  Under the Government's "wellbeing approach"\, the development of this year's Budget represents a new way of working and of thinking about how the Government makes investments\, and measures success.\n\n\n\nThis event is in conjunction with the Institute of Directors Waikato Branch.\n\n\n\nHon Grant Robertson\n\nMinister of Finance\, Minister for Sport and Recreation\n\nMinister Responsible for the Earthquake Commission\n\nAssociate Minister for Arts\, Culture\, and Heritage\n\nMP for Wellington Central\n\n \n\n\nGrant Robertson was born in Palmerston North and lived in Hastings before his family settled in Dunedin.\n\nHe studied politics at Otago\, graduating with a Bachelor of Arts with Honours in 1995. At university he was the President of the Otago University Students Association and became Co-President of the New Zealand University Students Association.\n\n\n\nGrant's belief in social justice and a desire to see every New Zealander achieve their potential led him to politics\, and he has been the Member of Parliament for Wellington Central since November 2008. In Opposition\, Grant held a range of portfolios\, including Finance from 2014 to 2017.\n\nAfter the 2017 election\, Grant was appointed Minister of Finance\, Minister for Sport and Recreation\, and Associate Minister for Arts\, Culture and Heritage.
