Description
Join us for the July BA4 with Hospice Waikato who are looking forward to the opportunity to tell you all about their services that form part of hospice care.
Hospice Waikato is at the heart of your community. Each year, they care for more than 1,500 adults who have been diagnosed with a life-limiting or life-threatening illness, and who call the Waikato home. Their care wraps around the patient’s families and whānau too, ensuring they make the most of the time they have left together.
Hospice Waikato also care for approximately 60 children and young people each year with advanced or incurable life-limiting conditions. Through their Rainbow Place service, staff walk alongside the children and their whānau, offering guidance, advocacy, respite care and support for the many complexities that are associated with these conditions.
About Hospice Waikato
A Charitable Trust, founded in 1981, Hospice Waikato is governed by a Board of Trustees. With a commitment to keeping their services free for those who need them, and with the Government funding approximately 70% of their core service delivery costs each year, they generate funds from their own second-hand retail shops, and from the generosity of individuals, community groups, businesses and community funders, and the wider community who support their fundraising activities.
